Heartbreak Through Words: A Poem of Love and Loss

One Art
By Elizabeth Bishop

The art of losing isn’t hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster.

Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.

Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.

I lost my mother’s watch. And look! my last, or
next-to-last, of three loved houses went.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.

I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,
some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn’t a disaster.

—Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan’t have lied. It’s evident
the art of losing’s not too hard to master
though it may look like (Write it!) like disaster.

If you're rejected, accept it. If you're unloved, let go. If they choose someone or something over you, move on.

Not everyone you love will stay. Not everyone you trust will be loyal. I don't care about losing people who don't wanna be in my life anymore.

I've lost people who meant the world to me, and I'm still doing just fine. Do not follow the majority, follow the right way.

I miss your smile, your laugh, and the way you make me feel. Every day feels a little less bright without you.

Every little thing reminds me of you... A song, a scent, a moment... 🥰

I can't wait to see you again and make new memories together. Until then, know that you're always in my thoughts and forever held in my heart! 💖

I hate waiting. But if wait means being able to be with you, I'll wait for as long as forever to be with you. 💖

Couple at the beach with quote of love

Isn't it amazing how God set the time and place on how He purposely designed everything to change? I thank God for His plans. I thank God for you!

Ever since I met you, my tears have lessened, my laughter has deepened, and my smiles have multiplied. With you by my side, life has become brighter and more beautiful.💖

I want to honor your space while also creating a moment where you feel seen and heard.

Would you like to sit together in quiet understanding or share what’s on your mind? Either way, I’m right here with you.💕

“Some of the biggest challenges in relationships come from the fact that most people enter a relationship in order to get something: they’re trying to find someone who’s going to make them feel good. In reality, the only way a relationship will last is if you see your relationship as a place that you go to give, and not a place that you go to take.” - Anthony Robbins.

Delicate flower and quote on love

Love is an endless act of forgiveness. Forgiveness is the key to action and freedom. - Maya Angelou.

Love is the timeless melody that flows through the heart, blending vulnerability with strength, and tenderness with courage.

It’s the silent force that speaks when words fall short, the gentle bond that weaves souls together.

Love carries our deepest emotions, shaping moments of connection that rise above time and distance, a masterpiece felt, not seen.

I hope someday you heal.
From the words that broke you, from the silence that followed,
From the nights you cried alone, holding on to pieces
Of a love that didn’t know how to stay
I hope the ache slowly turns into understanding.

I hope someday you forgive.
Not just the ones who hurt you, but also yourself
For trusting too quickly, for loving too deeply,
For believing in forever when they only meant for now
You did your best, and that was always enough.

I hope someday you remember.
What it feels like to laugh without hesitation,
To look in the mirror and see someone worth loving,
To wake up with peace instead of doubt
You are more than what they couldn’t see.

I hope someday you believe.
In love again, in beginnings that don’t end in pain,
In people who show up, stay, and hold your hand gently,
In a version of you who is not afraid to try again
Because you deserve a love that feels like home.

I hope someday you love.
Not just someone else, but every piece of who you are,
Even the ones that have been bruised and scarred,
Even the memories that made you flinch
You are still worthy, still radiant, still here.
